Chief Fabian Emmanuel, the Assistant Organizing Secretary l of the Akwa Ibom State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has pledged to revolutionize education and vocational skill acquisition in Asutan Ward 4.
He made this commitment yesterday at the council Hall Nung Udoe where he distributed free JAMB forms to all indigenes of Asutan Ward 4 interested in pursuing higher education.
Ide Ekpe acknowledged the academic challenges faced by his ward compared to others in Ibesikpo Asutan, expressing his determination to bolster educational support in the area. He promised to award scholarships to all successful candidates, particularly those who gain admission into professional courses.
Additionally, Ide Ekpe mentioned that this initiative may eventually expand to the clan or local government level, but emphasized the importance of 'Charity' starting at home.
During the event, he was accompanied by Hon. Sunday Jackson, the councilor representing Asutan Ward 4. Hon. Jackson commended Fabian Emmanuel for his initiative and pledged his full support for the project.
Mr. Favour Umana, the Personal Assistant to the sponsor on Academic and ICT affairs in Asutan Ward 4 and a 300-level student at the University of Uyo,himself a beneficiary of such initiative,also expressed gratitude to Fabian Emmanuel for sustaining and expanding this initiative. He encouraged beneficiaries to take full advantage of this opportunity.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Godwin Nse Daniel thanked Fabian Emmanuel for his generosity and promised to maximize the opportunity presented by this initiative.
Fifteen candidates expressed their interest and provided proof of their academic qualifications, receiving immediate financial assistance to purchase their JAMB forms. Those who had already purchased the forms were promptly reimbursed.
