Back home in Akwa-ibom, the governor of Akwa-ibom State H.E Pastor Umo Bassey Eno launched the free food voucher programme for the vulnerable at the famous market in Itu local government called "Itam Market". The free food voucher programme is the essential element in the Bulk Agency Bill which was signed into law last week. The agency is saddled with the responsibility of providing staple food items: garri, beans and rice to the most vulnerable through the social register.
Governor Eno who received encomiums from the crowd for being such a generous leader caring for his people's wellbeing, confirmed that he commitment is in tandem with his promises during inauguration to invest in the people and make them key partakers in governance. However, since Itu and Uyo were covered in this exercise, governor Eno directed the transition chairmen of the remaining 29 councils to launch the free food voucher programme next week Tuesday.
