Another Akwa Ibomite, Ubong Sunday Udom, a graduate of IT and Information System, is now gainfully employed into the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), courtesy of the Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, Public Procurement Committee, Rep. Unyime Idem.
Ubong Udom is another beneficiary to be employed by the Federal government into the ITF, as Rep. Idem had last weekend, presented an ITF letter of employment to Ufokobong Michael, who has since resumed work at the agency.
Handing the employment letter to Ubong Udom at his Abuja residence, Rep. Idem said the gesture is part of fulfillment of his promise to facilitate 1000 jobs for Akwa Ibomites into strategic Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, in 2025.
He also reiterated that the new target will be implemented alongside his sponsorship of overseas training for 100 Akwa Ibom people, which he instituted in 2024.
Idem charged Ubong Udom to be a good ambassador of Akwa Ibom state in his new place of work and exhibit the virtues of passion, commitment and sincerity.
"Be passionate about your job. You can't succeed without passion. Be committed. Be sincere. Sincere people make impact, not only in the world of work, but wherever they find themselves. Sincerity brings promotion and elevation. Above all, put God first in all you do. I am a product of God's grace. You can be that too, in your place of work."
"Be available. As you go to the ITF please be a good ambassador of Akwa Ibom state. Be our ears there. Give us information that will help us harness more opportunities for our people."
"It is my firm belief that in the next 10 to 15 years, we will have Akwa Ibomites as directors, Permanent Secretaries, and others in top management positions in the federal government. This way, we'll be able to attract federal presence such as projects, and programmes to Akwa Ibom state and lessen the burden on the state government."
"We will also be able to close the quota gap where only a few Akwa Ibomites are in managerial positions in federal MDAs," Idem said.
Responding, the beneficiary, Ubong Udom thanked the federal lawmaker for facilitating his employment and vowed to make him and the state proud by his lifestyle and performance in his new place of work.
